Do you want the College Football Hall of Fame to move?

This morning we’re talking about the College Football Hall of Fame possibly moving to Atlanta.  The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the Atlanta Business Chronicle have both cited sources, confirming the move.  There is suppose to be a news conference there tomorrow with state officials and the mayor of Atlanta announcing the move.

For years now, people here in Michiana have debated whether or not the Hall should stay or not.  Many people say it’s good for business, but others say, it wouldn’t be a big loss.  So we want to know what you think about it.  Do you think it would help or hurt the economy of Michiana if the Hall of Fame moves to Atlanta?  Do you want officials to fight to keep it here?  Does it bother you that a staple of downtown South Bend could be no more?  Are you happy about it?  Let us know what you think.

Afghanistan heads to the polls.

Today is a big day for the country of Afghanistan.  They’re voting for a new President, as we speak.  However, everything may not be running as smoothly, as planned. The Taliban is doing their best to keep voters from coming out.  Rocket attacks, and gunfire have hit voting areas.  So far there are numerous deaths.  There are 36 candidates to choose from, for a 5 year term including their current president.  We’ll have to wait and see who actually comes out as the winner.

But we want to know what you think about it.  Are you interested in the elections?  Do you think they are fair?  Do you think voters will risk their lives to make their voices heard?  Would you, if you were in their position?  Let us know what you think.

Bullies-not just a problem for kids

This morning we’re talking about grown up bullies.  Whether you know it or not, bullying does not stop on the playground.  In fact, studies are now being done on bullying in the workplace, and in adult life overall.  Interestingly enough, in a lot of cases the bullies are women.  The reasons for this are debatable and certainly there are still male bullies, but women can be mean and threatening.

So we want to know if you’ve ever been bullied, in the workplace, or since you’ve been ‘all grown up.’  What did it feel like?  What did you do about it?  Are you stumped by the problem?  Let us know what you think.

President Obama is coming to Wakarusa, today.

This morning, we’re talking about the President’s third visit to Michiana, since taking office.  The President is set to give an invitation only address at Monaco RV this afternoon.  He’s expected to talk about the economy and the status of the Recovery Act.

But, the big question is, why is he coming back to our neck of the woods again?  Is there a hidden agenda for putting Michiana in the national spotlight?

We want to know what you think.  Are you happy that the President is coming back to Michiana?  Do you think his visit will help or hurt our area financially?  Are there any issues and/or questions that you hope the President addresses today?  How do you feel about the visit overall?

Ok bloggers, this is your chance to tell the world your thoughts and opinions, so start your fingers!

Paula Leaves Idol

Did you hear Paula Abdul is leaving American Idol?  This news is bigger than curly fries.  It’s been talked about for months that she was trying to renegotiate her contract.  The deadline is up and she said she is not coming back next season.  On her Twitter page she said “I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day1become an international phenomenon.”
Some think this is a ploy to get more money and she’ll be back in the 11th hour, others say she added nothing to the show.

It’s going to be interesting to see what Simon says.  He said a few weeks back on Extra “She’ll be fine. She’ll be on the show. I don’t get a lot of say. I’ve just made it clear that I want Paula on the show.”  Looks like he doesn’t have a lot of say after all huh?

Since the start of last season there was talk Kara was coming in to replace Paula anyway.  Kara didn’t do it for me, and that song she wrote for the finale?  Please.  I’m not a big Paula fan, but I’d rather listen to her ramblings than Kara.

I digress.

What do you think? Will the show be better or worse?  Is it a conspiracy?  Do you even care?

Let it fly, that’s what this is here for.

Wild Horses in the West

This morning, we’re talking about a growing problem in the western United States.  For four decades wild horses have been federally protected.  They’ve been allowed to roam free and their population has grown as a result.  However, their growing population is now causing a problem for ranchers and the horses themselves.  There’s simply not enough room for an ever increasing horse population and a human one.

Researchers and the government are trying to come to a solution on this one, but as you can imagine different people have different opinions on how to do that.  One proposed solution is a form of birth control for the horses.  (For example:  castration for the stallions and/or birth control pills for the mares)  Another proposal is a controlled extermination of some of the herd.  Still others say, we should keep protecting the horses and let the population grow as it will.  Any way you try to fix the problem though, it could mean more of your tax dollars.

So we want to know what you think about this.  Are you in favor of keeping the wild horses running free under government protection?  Do you think some form of population control should be implemented?  Do you think this is a concern the government should give attention to, when the economy is struggling?  How important is this issue to you? Let us know what you think.

Ok bloggers, start your fingers and here are some links pertaining to this issue.

President Obama is coming back to Michiana!

This morning, we’re talking about President Barack Obama coming back to Michiana.  The White House confirms that the President will be in our area on Wednesday of next week.  The big questions are, where specifically will he make a stop and why is coming again?  His past two visits, since taking office,  have had very specific purposes.  He spoke at Notre Dame’s graduation ceremony, and he pitched his stimulus proposal in Elkhart, back in February.  There’s a lot of speculation as to why he’s coming back to Michiana, but as of right now, no one knows for sure.

So we want to know what you think about it.  Why do you think President Obama is coming back to Michiana?  Is there anything that you wish he’d draw attention to, or talk about when he comes?  Do you think the economy will be his focus, or could it be health care?  If it’s a town hall meeting, is there anything you want to ask the President?  Let us know what you think.

In life, sometimes you have to let it be.

This morning, we’re interviewing the author of the book, Let It Be.  It’s a true life story of a mother who lost her daughter to cancer.  Through pain, laughter, tears, and truth, Ruthe Rosen tells about her love for her late daughter, Karla.  The book is meant to help all people going through something difficult, that in the end, they can’t control, but must find a way to live through, and accept.

It’s obviously very hard to just let things like this, ‘be.’  So we want to know what you think about it.  Whether you’ve read the book or not, do you think there are things beyond our control that we must accept in order to move on?  Have you ever dealt with a situation, that changed your life forever, and there was nothing you could do about it?  How did you survive?  How did it change you?  How did it help others?  If you want to, share your story.  You never know, it might be the inspiration that someone else needs.

Is saying, I’m sorry enough?

This morning, we’re talking about the public apology from Chris Brown.  He got on camera and publicly said, quote “I’ve told Rihanna countless times and I’m telling you.. I’m truly, truly sorry that I wasn’t able to handle the situation both differently and better.”  Brown is referring to the felony assault he plead guilty to, last month.  Brown will have five years probation and six months of community labor.  In addition, he’ll also complete a year of domestic violence classes.

But, we want to know how you feel about his public “i’m sorry.”  Do you think it’s enough?  Do you think he’ll change his ways in the future?  Do you think it matters if he apologises to the public?  Are you happy about the apology?  Moreover, when is saying, I’m sorry enough?  Or, is it ever enough?  Let us know what you think.

What would you wish for?

This morning, we’re talking about the stuff of legends. That’s right, we’re talking about a genie in a bottle, granting wishes.   Most people in western cultures believe that the whole ‘genie in a bottle’ thing, is not real.  However, there are some people who believe in it–or at least, believe it could be possible.  And that’s what we want to talk about with you.

If there really was a magic genie in a bottle and you got to make 3 wishes, what would they be?  Would you wish for yourself, the world, or something totally different?  Here’s wishing…
