Yesterday I was running and listening to my iPod and every song was miserably slow. So I’ve decided I’m going to redo my workout song list. First on my list is “99 Red Balloons” by German singer Nena. It’s actually a protest song about the Cold War. I have no idea why I like this song so much, I think I just really like the beat. Also, I’m a huge Janet Jackson fan and I really like her the song and video of “All Night, Don’t Stop.” So if you had a to make a list of songs that are good to workout/run to, what would you include?

Hi Lindsey
How about Nasty Girl by Nity and Here comes the hot stepper by Ini Kamoze Those are pretty fun and should get you moving!
First on my workout list is “to Live and Die in L.A.” I put in the DVD, get on my treadmill and loosen up during the begining of the movie when the title song is playing…whoops, this was probably recorded b4 you were born…well check it out on youtube..
The perfect song– tempo-wise and just for the groove and upbeat feel is “Seventeen Years” by Ratatat. I’ve never been one of those meatheads who has to have screaming metal in my headphones to be motivated to work out.
“Hang Me Up to Dry” by Cold War Kids (I thought that might tie in appropriately with your Nena song) is a solid one. Lastly “Oxford Comma” by Vampire Weekend was the feel-good song of last year for me, and it too has a really neat rhythm to run or jog to. If you can handle one profane word, I highly recommend it.
“Shut up and Let me Go” is good. Also “Poker Face” and “Just Dance” by lady gaga. And Right Round by Flo rida. these would be a perfect addition to your workout list. I’m totally with you, I think a little bit of good music goes along way!!
