Hey there, and welcome to Ken’s Korner!

    They’re always looking for ways to improve the station website, and the idea of letting me write a blog came up. Ok, full disclosure here. I heard about Lindsey Sablan starting a blog and randomly said I wanted to write one. Well, one week later a banner was created and an account set up…so, here we are. By the way, this is the first time I have written a blog.

    Now that Ken’s Korner is real, it needs to have a topic. I did some soul searching and decided to write about weather. I’m a self proclaimed weather nerd and find the science simply fascinating (I’m currently in school studying to be a meteorologist). It’s just about the ONLY thing that has an impact on everyone. It determines if you will go out and play golf in the afternoon or if you should grab the heavy coat.

    I plan to write about interesting events that happen locally, nationally and around the world. I also hope to “teach” a little weather occasionally. That means I will try to explain, in simplest terms, some things you may hear us weather folks say on the air.

    I also hope all of you readers out there will be willing to participate by leaving comments. I encourage you to send me any weather pictures you take. That could be severe weather damage, a nice sunset or even a really neat cloud formation. I will try to post some of them here on this blog (as you can imagine, I can’t post everything). If you decide to send me pictures, please send them to my email, kgarcia@fox28.com. I will also post some of my own pictures that I occasionally take.
